Take a look at some of our latest projects to improve education in rural China!
With the dawning of Covid-19 in 2020, Spring Sprouts is combining its experiences from more than half a decade of teaching into worksheets and videos that can be accessed by children across all of rural China.
Since 2017, we have been developing new grammar and vocabulary curriculums for the students, focusing more on memory techniques and practical application so that they are able to improve independently throughout the year.
Desks and chairs
Thanks to Mr. Xiao and Ms. Gu, we were able to assemble a set of new desks and chairs for an entire classroom. We've replaced the worn-out desks and splintered chairs to create a much more comfortable environment.
While there is nothing wrong with blackboards in themselves, some that we previously owned were full of dents and bumps. Clean up has also been made much easier as chalk powder is minimalized.
With so many children crowded into a single classroom, efficiency was greatly limited by the trapped heat and subsequent sweat. By rewiring the electrical lines, we finally moved away from having class in the yard cooled only by an electric fan.
Our very first fundraising project, and probably the most appreciated. From a pungent stench to flushing water, we sought out to find the most environmentally sound and least malodorous solution.
